Ingredients

1 roll of puff pastry 3 apples2 tablespoons of butter1 cup of sugar1 1/4 cups (10 oz) of milk4 eggs1 tablespoon of cornstarch (Maizena)1 teaspoon of cinnamonZest of 1 lemonPowdered sugar

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. Peel the apples, core them, and cut into slices.
  2. In a frying pan, melt the butter and add the apples.
  3. Cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and the cinnamon.
  5. Stir and let it cook on low heat for a little longer.
  6. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  8. Line a tart pan with removable bottom with the pastry and prick the bottom with a fork.
  9. In a bowl, mix the eggs, remaining sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest, and milk and whisk well until smooth.
  10. Place the apples in the tart shell, then pour the egg mixture over the top.
  11. Bake for 30 minutes.
  12. Remove and let cool before unmolding.
  13. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
