Ingredients

4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into sticks2 levelled tablespoons of Portuguese ground red pepper sauce (pimenta moida)1 teaspoon of garlic powder1/2 teaspoon of paprika3/4 cup of red wine

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, add the pepper sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and wine and mix everything well.
  2. Add the potato sticks and using your hands incorporate everything well so all the sticks are all covered in the marinade.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic film and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Take the potato sticks from the bowl, drain any access marinade and fry it in hot oil.
  5. Once golden and crisp, remove from the oil and place them in paper towels to absorb the oil, and season with salt.
