Ingredients

2 cups of sugar1 and 1/4 cups of water2 cups of crushed almonds18 egg yolks3 eggsPowdered sugar

Get Portuguese ingredients

Preparation

  1. Heat the sugar and water until the sugar is well melted.
  2. Remove from the heat, add the almonds and mix very well. 
  3. Beat the egg yolks with the eggs lightly.
  4. Mix the eggs with the almond/sugar cream and bring to a boil to thicken a little.
  5. Spread the cream on a tray lined with parchment paper and well greased with butter. 
  6. Bake at 170ºC or 340ºF for about forty minutes.
  7. Dust with the powdered sugar and cut into slices.
