Preparation

  1. Blend together the eggs, sugar, condensed milk and milk.
  2. Make a caramel syrup with the water and sugar (in medium heat simmer the water and sugar until the syrup turns a golden caramel color). Pour into a pudding dish and spread evenly across the surface. Let it harden and pour the pudding batter on top.
  3. Bake in a water bath (banho maria) at 180ºC or 350ºF for about 45 minutes (do the toothpick test, if you are not sure; it's ready when the toothpick comes out moist but without pudding on it).

Recently discovered the Banho Maria pan in my cabinet. We lived in Brasil for 4 years in the 1980’s and we enjoyed it while we were there. Thought I might try it again. If anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it
