Ingredients

10 lbs of beef chuck with bone in4 cups of red Cabernet Sauvignon or red wine (to taste)10 fresh mint leaves2 large green cabbages4 bay leaves1 large French or Portuguese bread8 cups of water1 sachet plus 2 teaspoons of crushed whole all spice1/2 teaspoon of whole peppers corns2 tablespoons of sea salt

Preparation

  1. In a large soup pot, add the meat, the all spices, bay leaves, mint, wine, pepper corns, water and salt.
  2. Cook on high for 4 hours, 1/2 hour before it's done add the wedged cut cabbage.
  3. When done cooking, lay the cut up bread on the bottom of a deep baking tray, place the meat and cabbage over the bread and pour remaining broth over it all.
  4. Enjoy !
